When Can I Take a Pregnancy Test?

"Am I pregnant? What are the pregnancy symptoms? When can I take a pregnancy test?"

When you are trying to conceive and have a baby, you might constantly imagine you're experiencing pregnancy symptoms. You start to feel the best-known pregnancy symptoms first: nausea, bloated belly, bigger breasts, the urge to use the bathroom every 5 minutes, etc. You may even develop cravings for certain foods. You might look in the mirror and know, just know, that a baby is growing inside.

Truth is, it might be all in your head.

You won't know for sure until you take a pregnancy test. When you're trying to conceive, one of the hardest things is waiting to take the home pregnancy test (HPT) and see a positive result, but you must wait 2 or 3 weeks from the time of ovulation. This can seem like forever, especially if you have been trying for awhile.

Below, I've gathered some facts and figures to give you something to do while you're waiting. Here, you will learn:

  • how early you can expect to take a pregnancy test,
  • how pregnancy tests work,
  • and when you can expect accurate results based on your menstrual cycles.

When Will I Ovulate?

In order to know when you ovulate, you must know how long your menstrual cycle is. The average cycle lasts about 28 days but of course, there's a wide range of normal (anywhere from 23 to 35 days), so you can find out how long your cycle is by counting from the first day of one period to the first day of the next period.

Most women with regular periods ovulate sometime between the 11th and 16th day of their cycle. That means they may ovulate anywhere between 11 to 16 days after their last period started.

Starting about 4 or 5 days before ovulation, a woman's peak fertile time lasts about 5-7 days although there are only 1 or 2 days when she is most likely to become pregnant: the day prior to and the day of ovulation. But since the egg might be viable for 12-24 hours and sperm can live in the woman's body for 3-5 days, her most fertile time is considered to be about 5-7 days. Most ovulation charts stop at ovulation but you should continue trying to fertilize that egg for up to 24 hours after it's been released.

But still, if you're trying to get pregnant, these numbers provide quite a wide and imprecise time frame. Plus, for many women who do not have regular periods, trying to figure out the dates of ovulation can be frustrating. What can you do?

  • Take and chart your basal body temperature
  • Take careful records of the length of your menstrual cycles
  • Track your cervical mucus changes
  • Use ovulation urine tests available at many stores to identify the LH surge

Do You Track Your Cycles?

I Have an Irregular Cycle! Now What?

If you have an irregular cycle, you may need to use an ovulation kit to determine when your best chances for conception are. You can also speak with your doctor about how to determine your ovulation dates and how to help get your cycles on track.

When Is the Best Time to Get Pregnant?

Once you've narrowed down your time of ovulation (see above), then you have a better idea of when your egg is viable and ready to be fertilized by the sperm.

To better your chances of becoming pregnant, it is recommended that you have intercourse every other day around your time of ovulation. (If instead of using the other ovulation tests mentioned above you're relying on just your calendar records to figure out when you're fertile, that means after day 11 of your cycle you should have intercourse every other day, up until the 17th day.)

Why every other day? Why not every day for everyone? Once the sperm is released during intercourse, it takes nearly a full day for the man's body to replenish the sperm supply. If you have intercourse every day, it decreases the chances that there will be enough quality sperm that will be strong enough to reach the egg. This is not true for all, of course, but it should be considered.

How Soon Can I Take a Pregnancy Test?

How Soon Can I Take a Pregnancy Test?

After intercourse, many women want to take the pregnancy test immediately. They may even feel all the symptoms I mentioned above, hoping they have a little bun in the oven.

Unfortunately, it is not that easy or quick. Let's consider the cycle again. You probably ovulated sometime around day 11-16, so that means it will be about two weeks until your next expected period. Two weeks of waiting, wishing, and hoping…

When can you/should you take the test? Here's the kicker: not for another two to three weeks.

Three weeks? You ask. When did it change to three?!? If you miss your period after waiting two weeks for it to appear, that's great because the missed period is usually the first sign of pregnancy. Many women, though, who test on that very day will get a negative result on their ever-so-glorious pee stick, a.k.a the home pregnancy test.

Why?

What Hormone Do Pregnancy Tests Detect? What are mLUs?

Pregnancy tests detect the hormone hCG, or human chorionic gonadotropin. It is measured in mLus.

An mLu is a measurement of the hormone hCG as it is in urine. It stands for mili International Units. It is the standard way to measure hCG per milliliter of urine. Simply put, it is a measure of the concentration of hCG in the urine.

How Does a Pregnancy Test Work?

Home pregnancy tests, HPTs, rely on one thing: the hormone hCG. HCG, or human chorionic gonadotropin, is the hormone used to detect a pregnancy. It is emitted by an embryo (a ball of cells that becomes a baby) after it attaches or implants itself to the uterine wall (where the baby will grow inside of you). When does that happen? Approximately 6-12 days after the date of conception.

So let's look at our calendar again. 6 to 12 days after conception, which happened around the date of ovulation, hCG is emitted from the embryo, which should be the date of your expected period. So why wouldn't you get a positive result on that day?

HCG is emitted in small increments which increase as the embryo and its placenta grows. At first, right after conception, these increments of the hormone are so tiny that they will not be detected by a HPT. The amount of hCG grows more and more as days and weeks pass, but still may still not be enough to detect on the day of (or a few days before, as some tests proclaim) your expected period.

HPTs vary in the amount of hCG that can be detected. Some tests boast that they can detect as little as 10mlu of hCG to 25mlu of hCG, which means they might be able to detect a pregnancy as early as 7-10 days after conception. Those tests tend to be the 'early response' brands—ones you can use before an expected period—that cost a bit more than the average test. Other tests detect 25mlu-50mlu or more. These tests are better at detecting a pregnancy after a missed period.

So why is it better to wait three weeks to use a HPT? You are more likely to get a positive result from the test if you are indeed pregnant since your hCG levels will be higher.

If you test before your period and it's negative but you still miss a period, you'll retest again in a few days, using another test. What is that going to cost? Well, it depends on the brand, type of test, and how they are packaged. For one generic test at a dollar store, you'll spend—you guessed it—a dollar. For one generic test at a supermarket, pharmacy, or a Target/Walmart, you'll spend up to $3-$4. For name brand tests, you'll spend around $5-$6. Sometimes, generic and name brand tests are packaged in twos and threes and cost anywhere from $10-$15. There are even some packages with four or five tests in them, costing upwards of $20-$25. Of course the manufacturers don't mind if you buy more tests so they can make more money.

Bottom line, if you start testing too soon, you'll go through at least two tests, if not more. Just remember: don't be obsessive about taking the tests. If you test negative one day, wait a few days and then retest, which will give your body time to build up the hCG if you are pregnant. If you insist on testing every day, you might end up spending a lot of money and causing yourself a lot of unnecessary confusion.

Early Result Pregnancy Tests

What to Do While Waiting to Take a Pregnancy Test

If you're trying to conceive, waiting to take the test can seem like a lifetime. But there are some things you can do in the meantime. Until three weeks have passed, act as if you are already pregnant: get plenty of sleep, stay hydrated, take your vitamins (especially those with folic acid), stop taking harmful medications (i.e. ibuprofen, etc.), and refrain from drinking alcohol and smoking.

How Many Weeks Do You Have to Wait to Get a Positive Result?

If you've been reading, you'll know that you may not be able to get a positive pregnancy result until you have missed your period. At that point, you may be considered four weeks pregnant, since pregnancy is dated from the first day of your last menstrual period, which is usually four weeks prior.

Some women may not get a positive pregnancy result until after their fourth week or later, depending on how the hCG builds up in their bodies.

What if the pregnancy test is false?

False negatives are common with home pregnancy tests, so you should prepare yourself for an incorrect result. If you feel like the result is not accurate, wait a day or so and test again.

When Can I Get a Positive Pregnancy Test?

Here's where I can be pleasantly vague and say it's different for every woman and it's different with every pregnancy. Knowing when the best time for you to test depends on a few factors:

  • Do you have a regular period and have you been tracking everything—periods, ovulation, intercourse—on a calendar? If this is you, you can probably, potentially test the day of your next expected period and get a positive result if you are pregnant. With my first pregnancy, I had been very, very regular with my menstrual cycles—always 25 days for 13+ years—and I had been tracking everything so I knew the day I missed my period that I was pregnant without even having any other symptoms. The moment I used the HPT, I saw a positive result. With my fourth pregnancy, I tested three days early and got a positive result. Is it like that for everybody? No, but it is possible.
  • Do you have fairly regular periods but have not been very faithful about tracking everything? If this is you, I would wait until a few days after your missed period to take the test. If you're not sure exactly when you might expect your period, go back to the last time you had your period and count about 30 days. If it has been more than 30 days, go ahead and take a HPT.
  • Do you have irregular cycles? This is a tricky one, since there's no regular pattern to guide you. If this is you, I would suggest waiting for at least 35 days or more after your last period to take a HPT. Why so long? Sometimes women with irregular periods can have longer menstrual cycles, just as they can have really short cycles.
  • Have you already taken a test after waiting a week after your missed period, but it's negative? This is where it might get frustrating for women. If you have missed your period (assuming it's at least fairly regular) and waited a week but still get a negative result, you may have to wait even longer. Sometimes, it takes longer for the hCG to build up. I know and have read about women who didn't get positive results until after they were two months along or even further! I myself experienced this with my second pregnancy. I missed my period, took a test after a week, and was disappointed when it was negative. More than two weeks later, still having no period, I took another test, and lo and behold, I was indeed pregnant. At that point, I was nearly two and a half months along!
  • Did you get your period but you still feel as if you may be pregnant? It does happen, believe it or not, that some women will experience bleeding in the first few weeks (or months!) of their pregnancy and still be pregnant. The bleeding isn't actually a period; it is often the result of implantation or some other bleeding not directly related to the pregnancy. This may be a judgment call for you. You have to decide whether or not the 'symptoms' you are experiencing are from a pregnancy, regular pre-period fun, or just a bug. If the symptoms seem more like you are just sick and pass after two-three days, you're probably suffering from a stomach bug or virus. If the symptoms persist more than a few days and you do not get a period, you may be pregnant. Your best bet? Wait until the absence of a period, and go from there. Or if you can't wait, take a test. If it is negative but you still feel as if you might be pregnant, contact your doctor.

Other Reasons for a Missed Period

On the other hand, you may have missed a period or are experiencing a delayed period for other reasons: stress, increased amounts of exercise, an illness, hormonal imbalance, change in birth control, etc. This happened to me after stopping birth control, so I know how frustrating it can be! If you continue to get negative results but have still missed a period after 45 days, contact your doctor. He/she may want to see you for an exam and do blood work to see what is going on.

Questions & Answers

Question: The final day of my last period was June 9th. I should have started my period for this month on July 3rd, which was yesterday. I have had brown mucus discharge that is very light basically only when I wipe for about three days now on and off. Could this be implantation bleeding, or just a weird period?

Answer: It could be the start of a period, or it could be implantation bleeding. The only way to know is to take a test.

Question: How long do you wait to take a HPT after Implantation bleeding?

Answer: You can take a test when you miss your period.

Question: My last period was the 9th of February. When am I ovulating and when is my next period date?

Answer: If you have 28 day cycles, your fertility window would be from now until March 1st. Your next period may be around March 9th. I highly suggest downloading a period tracker app on your phone. It can give you all of this information every month. I use one to track mine.

Question: My last period was on June 5th. I have a regular 28 day cycle and up to today July 22nd I still haven't gotten my period. I've taken over 7 tests and they all say negative. I do have a right lower abdomen pain. What could it be?

Answer: Your period can be delayed for a number of reasons. if you are experiencing pain and your period still doesn't show up, you might want to speak with your doctor.

Question: I was due on the 11th April. I have a regular 28 day cycle. I am a week late. Am I pregnant?

Answer: If you are sexually active during your cycle, it is possible. It is time to take a test.

Question: It's now five months into my marriage, but I haven't yet gotten pregnant. What could be the problem?

Answer: There might not be a problem at all. Make sure you are tracking your cycles and having intercourse during your fertility window. Eat a healthy diet and take prenatal vitamins. If you try for a year or more and still don't become pregnant, then you should see a doctor.

Question: My last period was on the 11th of February. Today is the 12th of March. My period didn't start. Am I pregnant?

Answer: Periods can be late for a variety of reasons. If you think you may be pregnant, take a test.

Question: My last period was on Dec 31st. I have a regular 28-day cycle and up to today (January 26th), I still haven't gotten my period. When can I take a pregnancy test?

Answer: You can take one now.

Question: Is there a possibility that I can become pregnant from a short length of the menstruation cycle? I usually experience a 28-day cycle, but I have only three days of my period now, which does not fit my average flow. It is only spotting.

Answer: It is possible that what you experienced could be implantation bleeding. I suggest taking a test.

Question: My last period was on February 12th. Now, I have a bloated stomach and fatigue, but no nausea. I tested on March 21st with a negative result. Am I pregnant? Should I take the test again?

Answer: It wouldn't hurt to test again. If your period continues to be late, speak with your doctor.

Question: My LMP was April 3rd. I have irregular periods. For the past two days, I've had lower back and stomach pain. Every month, three to four days before my period, I'll get stomach and back pain. I have not had a period this month. When can I take a pregnancy test?

Answer: Since you have irregular periods, I cannot really say when you can take a test. I can only suggest that you take a test about two to three weeks after having intercourse.

Question: My last period started in the middle of November, I forgot the exact date. There was no period in December, and now it's Jan 4. Is there a possibility of being pregnant?

Answer: It's time to take a test.

Question: I had my period on April 3rd. I was with guy A on April 17th. I had what I thought was my period on May 1st; then I was with guy B all of May. I had an eight-week ultrasound that said I was eight weeks pregnant and conceived around the 15th of May. Is there any chance I could have gotten pregnant by guy A?

Answer: If you had your period at the beginning of May, you would not be eight weeks pregnant. Are you sure they didn't say you may have conceived around the 15th of April? I suggest speaking with your doctor about this because something is off.

Question: The first day of my last period was March 12th. I had sex the 25th of March. On April 14th, I found out I'm five weeks pregnant. Am I pregnant from having sex on the 25th of March? Or was I already pregnant by the 25th of March?

Answer: Based on your last period, your fertility window may have been between March 22nd and April 1st. The sex on the 25th definitely could have caused the pregnancy. Pregnancy is counted from the first day of your last period, which is why they are saying you would be 5-6 weeks.

Question: I had a miscarriage on March 21st. I still haven't gotten my period yet. When should I test?

Answer: I'm very sorry about the miscarriage. A woman's body can take a few weeks to a month or more to get back to normal after a miscarriage. The pregnancy hormone sometimes take a while to go back to normal. if you take a test now, it would be hard to determine if it is responding to the previous pregnancy or a possible current one. I suggest speaking with a doctor.

Question: My last period was on March 15th, when is my next period?

Answer: If you have regular 28-day cycles, then your next period should have been around April 13th or 14th.

Question: My last period was on March 9, and I still haven't gotten my period. I have taken two pregnancy tests, but the results were negative. What should I do?

Answer: If you haven't had a period since March, I suggest speaking with your doctor.

Question: February 10th was my last period, and today is March 19th. Should I wait to take a pregnancy test?

Answer: You can probably take a test now.

Question: My husband and I are trying to conceive. My last period was Aug 13-17. I haven't had one this month. Should I test?

Answer: You can probably test now.

Question: My last period was on March 16th. I had unprotected sex on April 9th. My period is late, and results keep coming negative. Could I be pregnant?

Answer: Periods can be delayed for other reasons besides pregnancy. If it doesn't show up within the next few days, test again just in case.

Question: If I had sex on the 29th of March, when should I take a pregnancy test?

Answer: You can take a pregnancy test when you miss your expected period. if you are not sure when that is, I suggest waiting at least two to three weeks before testing.

Question: I'm irregular-regular, meaning I get my periods every three months. Now, my husband and I are trying for children. My question is, when should I take a pregnancy test if my period is in May?

Answer: I personally have never heard of such a thing, except when caused by birth control. Usually, conception occurs ten to fourteen days after a period, and then a woman can test for pregnancy two to three weeks after conception.

Question: When is the best time to test for pregnancy?

Answer: The best time to test for pregnancy is on the day of your period if it does not come. Some tests can give you early answers up to six days, but it's still best to wait.

Question: I have a very regular period, 28 day cycle. This month however I am 5 days late on my period. My husband and I have been having a lot of unprotected sex since my last period to now on my missed period days. When should I take a test? And should I avoid having sex before taking a test?

Answer: You can test now. No need to abstain from sex.

Question: My last period began on October 6th. It's November 19th. Can I take a pregnancy test?

Answer: Yes, you can take a test.

Question: I was last intimate on the 18th of March. I didn't ovulate until the 27th of March. I've taken about nine (not by choice) tests; eight were negative, and one was positive. I still haven't started my period as of the 23rd of April. What is the likelihood of being pregnant? P.S. I got four negative tests after the one positive, and I took those tests on April 16th-April 19th.

Answer: Without knowing when your last period was, I can't really say what is going on. Periods can be delayed for a number of reasons besides pregnancy.

Question: My cycle is usually thirty days. I had sex with my boyfriend four days after my last period, during which he did it inside. Am I likely to get pregnant?

Answer: Anytime you have sex there's a chance of pregnancy. Although it is not unheard of to become pregnant so soon after a period, it is less common. Most women become pregnant around ten to fourteen days after their periods.

Question: My last period begins March 6th, and today is March 27th. Can I possibly be pregnant?

Answer: Based on your last period, your fertility window just ended. You still have about two more weeks until you get your next period. If you miss that period, then there is a possibility of pregnancy.

Question: I am 27 years old, and I had a cyst. I took medicine for it for two months. Last month, I got my period at the correct time. But this month, it's been delayed for 20 days. I have no period or pregnancy symptoms. I took a home pregnancy test, but it was negative. Could I be pregnant?

Answer: Sometimes, cysts can delay periods. I suggest speaking with your doctor.

Question: Last month, I was diagnosed with a slightly high prolactin level of 40. My doctor put me on Bromo. I had my last period on 21st February and tomorrow I should have my period again. How long would it take to conceive in my case? Should I take a pregnancy test tomorrow if I don't get my period?

Answer: Under normal circumstances, when a woman misses her period, she should take a pregnancy test. As you were under a doctor's supervision and taking medication, I am not going to answer in this case. I highly suggest you speak with your doctor.

Question: My last period was last January, but I did get my period in the middle of March for two days. Am I pregnant?

Answer: If you missed your period in February, you should probably take a test.

Question: I had my last period on the 21st of Feb. I had unprotected sex from 2 March to 8 March. Am I pregnant?

Answer: Being that you're in the middle of your cycle, there's no way to know until you miss your next period.

Question: I am turning 35 this year. Last month my period was late, and it was very light. It wasn't enough to fill a tampon, and barely a pad. This went on for three days. I've been talking to a few friends who said it might be due to my age. This month I am late. Today is my 35th day. I have not been on birth control since October, and have been regular. Could my body just be going through changes because of my age, or am I pregnant? Should I take a test or see my doctor?

Answer: It could be due to age. I am the same age and have noticed that my cycles are sometimes irregular. I suggest taking a test first. If it is negative, then perhaps you should see your doctor.

Question: My last period was on the 14th of February. When are my ovulating days? When is my best day to conceive?

Answer: Based on your LMP, your fertility window may be between 2/24-3/6 with a possible ovulation date of 3/1-3/2. The best days to try to conceive are now.

My period was due on the 1st, I assumed that my cycle had changed and I was right. It came two weeks later but before it came I had horrible cramps lower back pains and went to the loo often. Since it has started, I have lower abdomen pains and cramps. could this be a sign of pregnancy? or maybe an infection?

CharE on September 15, 2018:

Period tracker says I ovulated on Sept 5th. I was active the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th. Supposed to start period on sept 19th. When should I test? I feel different and not sure why. And can pregnancy cramps occur on 1 side? Also I spotted a bit around my active time. Thank you!!!

Newmommy23, the pain could have been anything. The tests are pretty accurate.

Newmommy23 on May 21, 2018:

Are emergency room urine tests accurate or could I of gotten a false negative? I went to the ER for severe sharp lower back/side pain they gave me a pain pill and it stopped. Does that sound like it could be related to being pregnant?

Marissa (author) from United States on May 21, 2018:

Newmommy23, if the last time you had sex was April 17th, most likely you would have had a positive result by now.

Newmommy23 on May 20, 2018:

If I had bleeding around may 1st that I thought was a period would a pregnancy test from the ER on may 8th give a false negative or if I was pregnant from an April 17th encounter would it of been positive by then?

My last period was February 13 and having unprotected sex on February 20. I am regular and 30 days cycle. I took a PT on April 13 and 14, it's all positive. So, last April 29, I was having a heavy bleeding and bad cramping and passing a big clot. April 30, I went to the doctor and had a Transvaginal Scan but theres no sac and fetal. They are telling me that Im not pregnant. But all my ovary, etc are normal. I have also a thick endometrium. I was bleeding a red-brown like for 5 days but on and off. What was this all about?

Marissa (author) from United States on April 19, 2018:

Kemi, if you are talking about the emergency contraceptive pill, it can throw off your cycles, making your period late.

Shelly, it only takes 'a little' to cause pregnacy. You are still in your fertility window, so you wouldn't be able to test for pregnancy for another 2 to 3 weeks.

I am highly sexually active with my partner and have recently had a period on the 13th of Feb, we have been trying for almost three years to have our first child and i ended up bleeding shortly after I had my period ended on the 17th. I had light bleeding on the 1st and its just ended today, it wasn't like my normal periods as I tend to get really intense pains in my breast and strong pains. I also get blood clots which is normal to me as well, it got my attention that I did not expect to be bleeding for another 11 days before I started bleeding. I track my periods which are irregular but I'm always late by a week. And this is the first time I started a really early bleed that wasn't heavy at all. When should I test myself?

Hi, so my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex 2 days after my period, he pulled out intime, (11th Feb to 15th feb) for the last week and a half I have had a bloated stomach and cramps, and the last 3 days tender breasts and wanting to throw up. I have also been emotional the last 2 days for no reason, when I am not that emotional. I have read s a lot and it's too soon to take a test, I have another 12 days till my Period. What's the best thing to do? Can I take a test next week?

Thank you in advance

Marissa (author) from United States on February 16, 2018:

Eli, you can take a pregnancy test 7 days after conception, which usually takes place during ovulation. That is about 3-4 weeks after a period. Being that you had sex during your least fertile time, there is less of a chance that you are pregnant.

Eli on February 16, 2018:

I had unprotected sex a day before my period and he ended up finishing in me. This happened on the 7th and then the 8th i got my period. I just took a test and it was negative, only because i read you can take a test 7 days after conception. I really don't know what to think being that this happened a day before my period. Is it still possible to get pregnant since my eggs "aren't fertile"? I need feedback please :(

Marissa (author) from United States on February 15, 2018:

Andy123, it does take your body a while to get back to normal after a miscarriage. The tiredness and discharge can be normal as it takes the body a while to regulate hormones. After I had a miscarriage and D&C, it was a few months before I considered anything a regular period. Of course, pregnancy can still happen during that time. If you are not looking to get pregnant yet, I suggest using another form of birth control as the pull out method is not always a reliable method. If your symptoms continue, I suggest speaking with your doctor.

Andy123 on February 14, 2018:

Hello,

I had a miscarriage November 13 2017. I then had my D&C procedure on the 15th November. 1st period was back on the 3rd January until the 7th January. On the 9th January I had unprotected sex inside and a few times after but he pulled out. I then had 2-3 days of brown spotting around my ovulation date 19th January. My next period due end of the month and came on the 3rd February it had been very light brown discharge for around 7-8days, no menstrual cramping which I usually suffer really really bad from, I did a pregnancy test on Sunday which was negative. I have been feeling tired but no other signs.. I'm not really sure what to do. I know your body can take a while to get back to normal.. just need some help/advice

Babez, based on your last period, you conceived sometime in the middle of December. Don't forget that the withdrawal method is not a reliable birth control method. My guess is that your boyfriend is the father, but as I am not a medical professional, I cannot say that with certainty. Only a paternity test will give you the actual answer. I suggest speaking with your doctor.

babez on January 10, 2018:

Please help .. Marissa (author) from United States on January 09, 2018:

Christina, according to the website I use, your fertility window may have been between December 7th through the 17th. With that information, I would guess that Guy #2 might be the father. As I am not a medical professional, this is just a guess. I highly suggest you seek the advice of your doctor.

Christina from Mesquite on January 08, 2018:

I was curious on your opinion. I had my last period November 27th and it ended on November 30th morning. Around midnight December 1st I had intercourse with guy # 1 . My period tracker app said I would ovulate between the 6th through the 12th of December. I had intercourse with guy # 2 on the 16th of December. I was supposed to start my period on December 25th but didn't. So I took a test that night and it came out positive. What do you think would be my chances on who the father would be the number one or die #2?

Marissa (author) from United States on January 07, 2018:

Kristy, it might be too soon to test. Wait a few more days and test again.
